We at St. John's Episcopal Church invite you
come and join us in worship and parish life as we drive life into
our vision.
We are a growing parish of people who seek God's
will as we reach out to one another in joy and service.
We embrace God's love in the midst of a volatile
world that is constantly changing. We are blessed by God's amazing
grace.
Whoever you are and wherever you might be in your
spiritual pilgrimage, we welcome you to explore the spiritual life
with us and journey with us as fellow pilgrims.

A July Message from Fr. Pat Finn
Dear Brothers and Sisters
in Christ,
As we begin this journey together, I'd like to take this time
to introduce my family and myself to the St. John's Family.
I'm the Command Chaplain for the Warrior Transition/Wounded
Programs at NMPS-Naval Station Norfolk, working with Combat
Sailors deploying to the desert.

My wife, Leslie, is a Clinical Nurse Coordinator who works
with with high risk mothers and babies at the Medical University
of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina.
Our eldest daughter, Erin, is a senior at the College of Charleston,
where her major is Spanish. She spent an exchange year in
Spain, and hopes to use her language skills to serve others.
Brenna, our youngest, graduated from high school in May of
this year and in the fall will attend the College of Charleston,
where she will study music and song writing.
Our son, Ryan, graduated from The Citadel in May of 2008,
and married his best friend, Kassia. They
live in Bozeman, Montana, with their new daughter, Layla Ann,
who was born on May 24, 2009. Ryan works as a detention officer
for Park County, Mont.
Our living and traveling in different parts of the country
the world made these past years the yearts of a thousand goodbyes.
So we choose an attitude of joy, because we also know that
there are thousands of hellos still to come.
This August we will travel for a family reunion and Baptism
in Montana. Starting this fall, Leslie will spend most of
her time here in Hampton Roads and my years of GeoBachelorhood
will come to an end. God is doing exciting things at St. John's.
It is a privilege to share them with you.
Yours in Jesus,
Fr. Pat

Tenn. to study commercial music. Katie graduated from Churchland
High School and will attend the University of Pittsburgh in
Pittsburgh, Pa. Rebecca graduated from Western Branch High

We send them forth with love and admiration. Our only advice

Join Our Anglican Rosary Prayer Series
on Sundays
More Meaningful Lives Through the Power of Prayer
We have begun the educational prayer studies that inspired us
to create our personal rosaries. We're learning how to unlock the power
of the rosary to help us reflect on the mysteries of Jesus' life. We're
learning to use the beads in prayer, we're learning different prayers,
and in so doing, we will further learn to really focus on Jesus' teachings.
Many people have joined in our efforts - why not you?!
